As a child in London, little Beatrix loved to draw – in particular, animals and things she saw around her in nature. When she was a little older, she began writing and drawing her own stories; with her own money she published her first book, about a naughty little rabbit named Peter. Beyond her writing, Beatrix was a conservationist, preserving much of the Lake District for future generations.
